Bristol Creative Industries
Bespoke Workshop
Intro
Bristol Creative Industries (BCI) is a vibrant hub that fosters collaboration, growth, and learning within the creative sector of Bristol. BCI connects like-minded creative businesses, providing them with opportunities and support to thrive collectively. They offer a digital platform for talent recruitment, raising members' profiles, and showcasing excellence. Additionally, BCI organises various events and skill development programs, such as keynote talks, portfolio review nights, community initiatives, and workshops.
The Challenge
BCI faced a unique challenge with their diverse group of neurodiverse learners and interns. They needed a comprehensive training program to help these individuals understand their neurodiversity better, advocate for their needs, and improve their work experiences. The goal was to create a supportive environment where interns could reflect on their learning styles and develop the skills necessary to thrive in a high-paced work setting.
BCI required specialized support that could address these unique needs effectively. After a thorough search, Clare Leczycki at BCI discovered Self-Agency, a company known for its expertise in neurodiversity and habit hacking training. Clare was impressed by Self-Agency's clear communication, excellent testimonials, and the energy and passion of its founder, Devon.
The Results
Self-Agency delivered a tailored training program that met BCI's needs perfectly. The program focused on neurodiversity awareness, advocacy, and self-reflection. By collaborating closely with BCI, Self-Agency ensured that the training sessions were aligned with the interns' previous work and extended their learning effectively.
The sessions provided a space for interns to understand their neurodiversity, reflect on their needs, and learn how to advocate for themselves. Self-Agency's approach, which included clear agendas, varied and engaging content, and practical activities, resonated well with the interns. They felt heard, supported, and inspired, significantly enhancing their overall experience.
Working with Devon and Self-Agency has been like receiving a big warm hug. Their communication is always clear, with all necessary information provided in advance. The booking system is efficient, and follow-ups are thorough. The training sessions were engaging and tailored to our interns' needs. Devon's understanding of the neurodiverse learners was exceptional, providing both support and inspiration. The feedback from our interns was overwhelmingly positive; they felt heard and motivated. Self-Agency’s ability to make complex concepts accessible and engaging is truly remarkable. I wholeheartedly recommend Self-Agency for their professionalism, expertise, and warm, supportive approach
